call us Tom and Barbara, though our names are actually Steve and Jane! Since
moving to France we have started making sausages and bacon; smoking our own
food; brewing beer; making salami, air dried hams and generally doing all
those things we've always wanted to do but didn't know how.
We started doing this in a standard domestic kitchen with minimal specialist equipment. We have since invested in various items to make life easier and we will show you how we did it without and let you use our new equipment so you can decide for yourselves whether or not you want to buy.
We had friends come to stay who asked us to show them how we do these things, and they are now experimenting and swapping recipes and techniques with us.
We thought perhaps there are other people who would like to have a go but want someone to guide them. That's when we hit upon the idea of offering holidays with a difference, giving you the opportunity to return home with a new set of skills and the confidence to use them on your own in your own kitchen.
Holidays will be on a full board basis with breakfast, morning coffee, lunch, afternoon tea and a three course dinner. Dinner will include canapés, aperitif, wine or beer and a digestive.
All rooms will have private facilities. Activities are, of course, optional and guests are free to dip in and out according to what interests them.
